Edvard Grieg was born in Bergen and in early age it was obvisious that he was to become an musician and composer....




Tschudi Shipping is one of the partners for the cultural exchange between MusicaNord and Tallinn Chamber Music Festival. On Wednesday 20th and Friday 22nd of August, the Norwegian artists Michael Süssmann, violin - Tor Erik Seime Pettersen, piano, perform recitals in Törva Church and in Tallinn Town Hall. The tour is also supported by MIC, Music Information Centre Norway.





 

The GRIEG IN BERGEN FESTIVAL
10 Weeks - 58 performances - June to August

Grieg in Bergen features chamber music the intimate way, with a close relation between artists and audience, - a chilling experience for both parts. During 10 weeks the festival presents and highlights Edvard Grieg and also focuses on other composers, mainly related to Grieg in one or another way.

- an exciting meeting with foreign culture

During one week last May, the Norwegian department of Foreign Affairs in Baku and Tblisi, invited MusicaNord for several performances by Michael Süssmann (violin) and Signe Bakke (piano). A mix of concerts ranging from visit at music schools in the montagneous vicinity of Baku to the main concert Hall in the city, featuring the 3 Grieg sonatas for violin and piano, were met by great enthusiasm from the audience in the two countries.

GRIEG IN BERGEN
is Bergen`s main concert event during the summer months. For 10 weeks,
15. June - 22. August, the festival offers a wide concert menu. 2009 will be the 13th Grieg in Bergen.
