- So why is it then, that the songs play such a prominent role in my production? Quite simply the fact that I, like other mortals, once in mye life was highly gifted. And that gift was Love. I loved a young girl with a beautiful voice and just as beautiful a delivery. This girl became my wife and life partner to this very day. I venture to say that for me she is still the only true interpreter of my songs! My songs came about as of necessity and were all made for her...

Kristina Socanski was born in Belgrade, Serbia in 1990. Eight years old, she started to play the piano with Prof. Maja Avramovic at the “Stanislav Binicki” Music School. In 2001 she moved to Norway, where she continued to play with Birgitte Elfving in Stavanger. In 2002 she became a student of Gisela Herb, teaching at the University of Stavanger.

Later on, Kristina entered “Unge Musikere”, a national program connected to the University of Stavanger, made for development of special musical talents. She continued to play with Gisela Herb, and had the opportunity to follow lectures, master classes and seminars, as well as to actively take part in concerts and chamber music projects at the university.

She has participated in festivals such as the “International Piano Duo Festival” and “International Chamber Music Festival” in Stavanger, "Egersund Youth Chamber Music Festival " and "Valdres Music Festival".

Between 2005 and 2007 Kristina has been awarded 1. prize at the "National Music Competition of Norway" and 2. prize at "Gradus ad Parnassum”- international piano competition in Serbia, as well as the “Henle Verlag-Preis” at an international piano competition in Munich, as the youngest contestant in the category.

In 2006 Kristina moved to Oslo to play with Prof. Jiri Hlinka at the Barratt Due Institute of Music. The same year, she was awarded “Drømmestipendet” (The “Dream-grant”) and in 2007, the “Genialt” (“Ingenious”) scholarship.

She has given concerts in Norway, Serbia, Italy and Germany, both as a soloist and chamber musician and also recorded for Serbian Radio in Belgrade.

Kristina studied at the "HFM Franz Liszt Weimar" in 2008 and is now continuing her studies at the University of Stavanger with Prof. Håkon Austbø.
