Irene Simonsen is from Stord/Fitjar. After a couple of years studying to become a teacher at Stord, she studied the piano with Audun Kayser at The Grieg Academy of Music in Bergen. At the time she is working on her Major in accompanying singers. Over the latest years she has performed at a number of occasions as an accompanist in and around Bergen. At the Brandt Award in Bergen 2002, Grieg Festival in Münstern, summer concerts at Troldhaugen (Grieg´s home), “Musikksalon” at Grand Hotel Terminus, MusicaNord`s summer concerts at Fløyen, Logen Bar and various church concerts to mention some. In the latest years she has collaborated with Tore Kloster. She has participated in master classes with Håvard Gimse, Liv Glaser, Nikolai Petrof and Margo Garreth.
