Jarle Rotevatn studied at Bergen Music Conservatory with Knut Albrigt Andersen, and later at Wien Musikhochschule with Eduard Mrazele. He made his debut in Oslo in 1980, and was awarded with a debut prize in 1982 from society Friends of Music. Rotevatn has soloed with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra as well as Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and has participated in Bergen International Festival several times. Today he is a freelancer, and also a pianist in Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as being a member of the contemporary music ensemble BIT 20.
