Åsta Jørgensen started to play the violin at 9, and was gratuated from Rogaland Music Conservatory, where she studied with Frantisec Veselka, and later at the Manhatten School of Music, New York, with Seymon Goldberg as her teacher.
Jørgensen is active as a soloist, as a chamber musician, and in orchestra playing. She has soloed with most of the Norwegian symphony orchestras, and has toured Denmark, Switzerland, and the US. She made her debut in Oslo 1986 and became a prize winner in the Princess Astrid Competition one year later. Today she is 3rd concertmaster at Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra.
