The Concert Event
The 14.Grieg in Bergen will be a concert event filled with a varied and ambitous program, says Michael Süssmann, artistic director.. This year`s artists and ensembles come from 9 different countries (se below), and the size of the ensembles varies from 2 to more then 70 on the stage. Where singers are participating, most programs involve a Concert & Story profile, where the audience will be presented a close look on Edvard Grieg`s music and life. But there is much more into it than solely Grieg: A very wide list of composers will be featured, with a special focus on Robert Schumann and Ole Bull, who both are celebrated in 2010.

Origin artists and ensembles
Several countries are represented in Grieg in Bergen: Germany, Spain, Russia, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia, Austria, Serbia, and Norway.

Young Talents
"As before, we continue to give special talented and young musicians the possibilty to perform professionally, which, except for the important and very good training this involves, also is mostly inspiring for the audience, Süssmann continues."The young artists literally give absolutely all they have on the stage, and their level of proficiency is asthonishing.".

10 weeks duration
There will be 40 concerts from middle of June till middle of August. Held in the charming Korskirken, the Church of the Cross, located in Bergen city.

Dine and Concert
Grieg in Bergen continues to offer its successful Dine & Concert concept which also can be ordered online. Settling around the table for a 2 or 3-course delicious dinner at 7 PM, and go for the concert at 9 PM just 250 meters away, - making together a full evening event.
