- Yes, life is as strange as folk songs. We don't know if they were meant to be in major or minor key... Some of the melodies are exquisitely beautiful. At any rate I have written down chord progression that are outrageous. However, in my defense I must say that they did not originate at the piano, but in my mind.

THE GRIEG IN BERGEN FESTIVAL
The Festival
"We have landed on the concept to have one soloist and piano in most of our programs", says Michael Süssmann, artistic director of Grieg in Bergen Festival. " Of course, the term "soloist with piano" is not a correct one, because the pianist plays as an important part on the stage as the "soloist"does. But still, I like to put it this way, because we do not regard such a team as a duo, because very rarely the artists are a fixed or permanent ensemble. Chamber music festival are one of those very few places were musicians meet other musicians, and that`s also how the constellations on the stage are formed.", Süssmann continues.
Young Talents
"As before, we continue to give special talented and young musicians the possibilty to perform professionally, which, except for the important and very good training this involves, also is mostly inspiring for the audience. The young artists literally give absolutely all they have on the stage, and their level of proficiency is asthonishing.".
10 weeks duration
There will be apprx. 60 concerts from 16th of June till 23rd of August. Held in the charming dining hall of Grand Hotel Terminus in Bergen city, an intimate atmosphere in the concert hall with a splendid accoustic together with a 1class cuisine at the hotel, make the possibility for an event which will stay in your mind for a long while.
