Turid Bakke Braut graduated from Bergen Music Conservatory 1978 as a piano and song teacher, and has as well later graduated from Royal College of Music and Drama 1979, and she made her diploma at the Norwegian State Academy of Music 1981. Among her teachers were Jan Henrik Kayser, Jens Harald Bratlie and Valentina Schubinskaja. In 1969 she was awarded 1.prize at the National Youth Piano Competition.
Turid Bakke Braut has soloed with several symphony orchestras and has toured for Rikskonsertene and abroad, and performed in radio and television. She plays regulary at Troldhaugen, the home of Edvard Grieg.
Since 1990 she is also associated professor of the Trondheim Music Conservatory, and since 2002 she is an associated professor of The Grieg Academy of Bergen.
She has been participating in several CD productions of norwegian music and she has been working a lot as an accompanist of singers.
