BIOGRAPHIES

BERGEN KAMMERKOR is a mixed-voice chamber choir based in the city of Bergen. It was founded in 1983, produces several concerts annually and engages in co-productions with other choirs and professional musicians.

Bergen Kammerkor’s focus is classical choral music, mainly a cappella. We however seek challenges in other areas such as jazz, folk and church music. Recently the choir has developed a thematic concert concept with performances such as «Voice of the Tango» (2017) and «The food of love – Shakespeare in Song» (2016) in the Bergen University Aula.

It is an explicit objective of the choir to visit other countries for inspiration. We have participated at festivals and choir competitions with good results in Latvia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Russia, Estonia, Slovakia and Poland.

The choir’s conductor is Annlaug Hus. In addition to her function as choral conductor she is musical advisor for the Norwegian Choir Association, and Festival Manager for Grieg International Choir Festival.

At tonight’s concert we present a program that spans Scandinavian choral music, including classical and national romantic pieces, choral adaptions of folk music and modern choral works.
